Barlo Motors Clonmel, formerly known as Barlo Farm Machinery, has a long history dating back to 1944 when it was established by Matt Barlow. The company initially operated from its premises on Emmet Street in Clonmel, which is now the location of Superquinn Shopping Centre. In 1948, Barlo Motors became the main distributor for David Brown tractors and Claas combine harvesters in counties Tipperary, Kilkenny, and Waterford. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, the company experienced significant growth and in 1978, it relocated to a new facility in Clonmel, which was inaugurated by the Minister for Agriculture at the time, Mr Jim Gibbons. Barlo Motors served the farming community from its five branches in Clonmel, Kilkenny, Thurles, Tipperary Town, and Dungarvan until the early 2000s. In 1989, Barlo Motors was appointed as the main Ford dealer for South Tipperary, marking a new chapter for the company. Despite the passing of Dealer Principal Ray Barlow in 2002, the company continued under the leadership of Alan and Ivan Barlow. From the beginning, Barlo Motors has prioritized customer satisfaction, adhering to the motto "Treat Your Customer As You Would Like To Be Treated Yourself." This commitment has allowed them to maintain relationships with customers spanning generations. Barlo Motors offers a wide range of new and used Ford vehicles, including the Fiesta, Focus, and Mondeo, as well as Ford Commercial vehicles like the Transit and Fiesta Van.
