Business Description

Castle Ellen House is an ongoing restoration project led by Mr. Michael Keaney, aiming to restore the historic house and its grounds to its former state. Built in 1810 by the Lambert family, Castle Ellen is located on 33 acres of land, 13.5 miles from Galway City and 2.5 miles from Athenry. Since purchasing the property in 1974, Mr. Keaney has dedicated himself to the restoration, resulting in the house becoming a haven for artists, sculptors, and poets. Donations are welcomed to support the ongoing efforts in preserving this historical gem. Please note that the house is only open during the summer period.
