Although they suffered a defeat in the 2010 final against Kingscourt Stars, Cavan Gaels reclaimed the title in 2011 with an impressive victory over Castlerahan, achieving their largest winning margin in a Cavan Senior Football Championship final. Their streak of consecutive final appearances ended in 2012 when they were eliminated in the quarterfinals by Killygarry.
