Business Description
The Point Theatre, located in Dublin, Ireland, was a popular concert and events venue from 1988 to 2007, attracting over 2 million visitors. It was situated in the Dublin Docklands on the North Wall Quay of the River Liffey. The venue underwent a major redevelopment and rebranding in July 2008, becoming known as the O2. The capacity increased from 8,500 to 14,000 seats. The Point Theatre was known for its versatility, hosting various events such as concerts, ice skating, boxing matches, conferences, exhibitions, and more. It also hosted the Eurovision Song Contest and the MTV European Music Awards. Originally built as a train depot in 1878, the building was purchased by local developer Harry Crosbie and renovated by Apollo Leisure. U2 recorded a track for their album "Rattle and Hum" at the venue before its renovation.
