Business Description

Fota House is a magnificent Regency period house located on the island estate of Fota, 12km east of Cork City. Designed by the famous Morrison architects in the 1820s, the house showcases exquisite Regency features and offers guided tours that provide insight into the lives of both the servants and the gentry who lived there. The house boasts a collection of 18th and 19th Century Irish paintings and furniture, as well as a preserved Service Wing that has changed little since the 1820s. The island estate also includes beautiful formal gardens, a world-renowned arboretum, a wildlife park, a 5-star holiday resort with spa, and a golf club. Visitors can explore the arboretum, which features rare and exotic trees and shrubs gathered from around the world, and enjoy top-class food in the café and browse in the gift shop. Fota House is run by the Irish Heritage Trust and the gardens and arboretum are managed by the OPW.
