The Grafton Academy of Fashion Design is a renowned institution with a long-standing tradition in design and tailoring. We specialize in teaching design, pattern drafting, and garment construction. Our flagship program is a 3-year, full-time Fashion Design Diploma course that prepares students for a career in the fashion industry or allows them to pursue their creative passion as a pastime. We also offer flexible courses to accommodate students with different schedules and commitments. Our teaching approach emphasizes practical and hands-on learning, fostering talent while providing structure and order. Students develop essential skills in design development, portfolio presentation, pattern cutting, prototyping, and garment construction. What sets us apart is that students can start the Diploma course at any time of the year, with teaching delivered through individual attention within a classroom setting. Additionally, the Diploma course can be taken on a part-time basis, either in the mornings or afternoons, to accommodate part-time work and other commitments. In addition to the Diploma course, we offer a variety of part-time short courses during evenings, Saturdays, and throughout the summer, catering to students of all ages and requirements. Popular courses include Dressmaking and Millinery. We also provide a Short, Intensive, and Trial Fashion Design course, lasting 1 or 3 months, which serves as an ideal opportunity to experience the program before committing to the Diploma. Our student body is diverse, comprising school leavers and mature applicants seeking a career break or insight into the fashion design field. Students come to us from all over the world, and many have achieved success in national and international competitions. Graduates of the Grafton Academy go on to establish lasting careers in the fashion industry, leveraging the skills they acquired at our institution. We maintain strong connections with the fashion industry, and our graduates often secure positions as designers, assistant designers, and pattern cutters in major design studios and manufacturers. They work across various fashion sectors, including high street brands, evening wear, bridal wear, couture, lingerie, children's wear, corporate wear, performance sports wear, and menswear.
