Business Description

Habitat for Humanity Ireland is a nonprofit organization that aims to provide safe and affordable housing for people in need. Through their grassroots, self-help model, they empower individuals and communities to solve their own housing problems. Habitat and its partners work to build and improve houses, revitalize communities, and rebuild after natural disasters and conflicts. They offer a range of services including weatherization, water and sanitation facilities, housing microfinance, and construction skills and financial literacy training. Habitat does not simply build houses for people, but works alongside homeowners and volunteers to construct, renovate, or refurbish homes using donations of money, land, and materials. The completed houses are then sold to partner families at below market cost, providing a hand up rather than a handout. Habitat is committed to the belief that access to affordable shelter is a basic human right and works with people of all backgrounds and beliefs in the fight against poverty. Since its founding in 2002, Habitat for Humanity Ireland has developed programs in various areas and continues to work towards their vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
