The Kildare & West Wicklow Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (KWWSPCA) is a registered charity dedicated to preventing animal cruelty. Established in 1940, the organization aims to inspect reported cases of animal cruelty, provide shelter for distressed animals, survey places of concern, attend to animal accidents, re-home domestic animals and return wild animals to their natural habitat, offer guidance and education to animal owners, provide subsidies for neutering pets in financial difficulties, and educate the public on responsible animal ownership. The KWWSPCA operates solely with volunteers and its accounts are audited annually and available for public inspection.
