Local Taxis

Local Taxis is an organization dedicated to creating a welcoming atmosphere for the long-term unemployed and encouraging them to re-enter the workforce as taxi drivers. We offer work placements to individuals with a P.S.V. license, providing them with valuable experience in various areas such as hazards and risks, meter set-up, radio systems, printed receipt systems, G.P.S. systems, passenger extra care, map reading and orientation, driving responsibility, time management, and disability awareness. After the training, those who wish to work with or gain work experience through Local Taxis are highly welcome, even in a voluntary capacity. Our goal is to promote both Irish and non-Irish taxi drivers in Galway City, reinforcing community security through private taxi drivers operating with Local Taxis. We encourage cooperation and teamwork to achieve our goals, while offering excellent service that enables our customers to save money. Through our efforts, we aim to create a helpful and caring community.
