Rockwood House is a bed and breakfast located in Glengarriff Village, just a minute's walk from bars and restaurants. Garinish Island, also known as Ilnacullin, is a 15-hectare island located in Bantry Bay. It was acquired by John Annan Bryce in 1910 and developed into a world-renowned garden with the help of architect and garden designer Harold Peto. After Bryce's death, his widow and son continued to develop the gardens, adding interesting plants from around the world. The island was bequeathed to the Irish people in 1953 and is now cared for by the Commissioners of Public Works.
