Rush Sailing Club, founded in 1954, started with limited resources but a passionate group of local enthusiasts. Despite their initial challenges, they built their own Dublin Bay Mermaids, which have remained the primary racing boats for over fifty years. Over time, the club has undergone significant development, now boasting a well-equipped clubhouse, yard, private slipway, and a fenced and serviced boat park. Apart from the Mermaids, the club now has a substantial fleet of cruisers and motor boats in the estuary. The club also has an active Junior section that offers sailing opportunities with Optimist, Pico, Laser, and Feva dinghies. Additionally, members engage in various water sports activities such as fishing, kayaking, and diving. The club organizes courses for adult beginners as well as for those looking to enhance their skills.
