Business Description

Salvagem is a premier antiques store located in Cork's Victorian Quarter. We specialize in the sale of fine furniture antiques and collectibles, offering carefully selected pieces of fine Irish and European antiques, Irish art, and sculpture. Our store occupies two period buildings on MacCurtain Street, providing a premium retail destination for antique enthusiasts. In addition to selling antiques, we also offer a range of services. We carry a variety of period timbers, veneers, marble, glass, and fabrics, as well as furniture fittings and accessories such as hinges, screws, mortise locks, and escutcheons. Our team is skilled in the restoration and salvage of period furniture using traditional methods such as French polishing, marquetry, and gilding. We work with exotic woods and strive to retain as much of the original piece as possible, finishing each piece with the correct type and method of finish. To cater to our clients' needs, we provide a call-out service for those looking for on-site work. However, please note that our specialist services are available by appointment only. Our shop is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 12 noon to 6 p.m. Overall, Salvagem offers a unique and high-quality shopping experience for antique enthusiasts, providing a wide range of fine furniture antiques, art, and collectibles, as well as expert restoration and salvage services.
