The Burren Smokehouse is a renowned artisan producer of Organic Smoked Salmon, Mackerel, Trout, and Smoked Gouda Cheese. Founded in 1989 by Birgitta Hedin-Curtin and Peter Curtin, the smokehouse has grown to become one of Ireland's best-known producers. Located on Ireland's west coast, the smokehouse offers a wide range of products, including their own smoked organic salmon, craft products, delicacies, locally produced dairy and cheese, and gift hampers. In addition to their online mail order service, The Burren Smokehouse supplies to retailers and wholesalers in Ireland, Europe, and America. The smokehouse also has a visitor centre where visitors can taste their smoked salmon, watch a DVD presentation about the smoking process, and explore the retired kiln and smokebox on display. Free parking and facilities for the disabled are available. The smokehouse is conveniently located near the Cliffs of Moher and offers a unique experience for those interested in the art of salmon smoking.
