The National Concert Hall in Dublin is a prestigious venue that is home to several renowned musical organizations, including the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Choir Ireland, Irish Baroque Orchestra, Music Network, Crash Ensemble, and Music Generation. The hall received a complete bronze double gamelan from Sultan Hamengkubuwono X of Yogyakarta in Java in January 2014, which is used by the ensemble directed by Irish composer Peter Moran. The NCH Gamelan Room is where rehearsals take place every Tuesday evening. With its reputation as one of the finest concert halls in Europe, the National Concert Hall attracts over 340,000 concert-goers annually. It offers a diverse range of performances, from classic operas and musicals to contemporary Irish folk, and is a thriving venue that caters to all musical tastes. The National Concert Hall was opened by President Hillary on 9 September 1981, fulfilling the long-standing dream of many Irish music-lovers.
